Anne Holmi

Originally from Milwaukee, WI, Anne Holmi just completed her 25th season as a hornist in the Charleston Symphony Orchestra.  Beginning in 2009, Ms. Holmi also performed with the Alabama Symphony and Jacksonville Symphony.  In addition, she is a member of the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra, freelances in the Coastal Carolina area, and maintains a studio of private students.  

 

Before coming to Charleston, Ms. Holmi played with the Roanoke Symphony in Virginia and Saginaw Symphony in Michigan.  Some of the music festivals she has performed in include the Aspen Music Festival, the National Orchestral Institute, Summit Brass Festival, and faculty member of the Skyline Brass Festival until 2001.  She holds a DMA in Horn Performance from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, a Master’s Degree in Horn Performance from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and a Bachelor's Degree in Horn Performance from the University of Wisconsin- Madison.  Douglas Hill, Peter Landgren, Bryan Kennedy, Bill Cowart and Lowell Greer are among Ms. Holmi's principal teachers.  Ms. Holmi lives in Mount Pleasant with her husband, Peter, while their two adult children, Eric and Laura, attend college.
